Brussels Outdoor School
De Brussels Outdoor School begon in 2018 met de eerste drietalige, openluchtschool in het Zoniënwoud. Voor de begeleiding van de Nederlandstalige groep op woensdag zoeken we een geëngageerde innovatieve kleuterleid/ster of natuurgids die ervaring met jonge kinderen heeft.
To supervise the children at all times.
To be responsible at all times for high standards of care and education of all group members.
To be responsible for setting up with support of assistant staff the activities, with liaison with the
Education Designer, and getting ready the equipment and materials needed. To maintain the
materials, tools and equipment in a suitable state.
To prepare and keep up to date the relevant Risk Assessments. To make staff aware of the Risk
Assessments. To administer basic first aid as the need arises.
To create and manage an effective, stimulating, well organised and safe learning environment.
To provide consistently high quality learning experiences: to use a variety of teaching and
learning styles, to identify and apply a range of appropriate teaching approaches which
encourage BOS students to develop independent learning skills, as well as to contribute to
curriculum development in the School.
To promote and encourage students’ numeracy and literacy skills attainment on regular basis.
To carry out such duties, including cover for absent colleagues.
To evaluate and track BOS students’ progress and to keep detailed records of students’ progress
and maintain administrative paper work.
To attend meetings including parental meetings, teaching staff meeting, departmental meeting
and staff training sessions as required.
To advise and support the school in maintaining the School and forest area in a suitable state,
including any planting.
To be in charge of the assistant staff and to communicate their roles in timely and respectful
To act as a role model for students and conduct myself in accordance with Brussels Outdoor
School expected standards of behaviour.
To treat as confidential all information and records of the BOS Programme and Brussels Outdoor
School operations, personnel and students and not disclose these to people without written
authorisation, either within the organisation or externally.
To promote the Brussels Outdoor School and Outdoor Learning ethos.
To ensure effective communication with the staff, management, learners and with all partner
To contact the Education Designer or School Coordinator by 8.30am if unable to attend school
due to sickness or any other circumstances beyond one’s control. Otherwise, arrive on time by 8
To adopt and follow school policies.
To carry out tasks as reasonably required by the Education Designer or School Coordinator.
